Lubukbasung (ANTARA) - The government of Nagari Maninjau, Tanjungraya District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra developed Tapian Penyingahan as a tourist destination to improve the economy of the local community.
Wali Nagari (village head) of Maninjau, Alvian in Lubukbasung, Friday, said that the Tapian Panyingahan had been opened since 2017 and in 2019 was built a location for the parking lot and fence with budget of Rp400 million from the Agam regional budget.
"This year the budget for the construction of supporting facilities for tourism objects in the area is nothing due to COVID-19," he added.
In the future, he said, there will be a floating cafe, a floating paragliding landing site, a place for performing arts and others.
The development uses the budget from the village funds and the Agam Regional Budget.
"The construction is targeted for completion in 2022," he said.
He added, Tapian Penyingahan has a beautiful view with the background of Lake Maninjau.
This tourist attraction is on the road to the Buya Hamka Museum and is visited by hundreds of tourists every afternoon.
"With so many visits, it can improve the community's economy, because there will be residents selling food, drinks and souvenirs," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Agam Youth and Sports Tourism Office, Syatria, said that tourist destinations exist in every village.
For this reason, his party supports the village government in developing these tourist destinations.
"Development can use village funds and we are ready to provide assistance in developing these tourist destinations," he said.
