Artists and Pariaman village government collaborate to train young generation in arts

Pariaman (ANTARA) - A number of artists who are members of the Batajau Seni Piaman Forum or Padang Pariaman Regency and Pariaman City, W Sumatra collaborate with the Government of Koto Marapak Village, East Pariaman Sub-district to train young people in the field of art.

"The City of Pariaman has extraordinary artistic potential and must be maintained," said Chairman of Batajau Seni Piaman Forum, Muhammad Fadly in Pariaman, Wednesday.

According to him, this potential will not develop properly if there is no effort to create an art ecosystem up to the village level.

In order to create an art ecosystem, attention from the village government is needed so that the traditional arts in Pariaman are not lost.

"Therefore, we appreciate the Head of Koto Marapak Village, who is trying to revive the arts in Pariaman, for that we are ready to train the young generation here," he said.

After running the training, he and the young men who were trained will present it at the Batajau Seni Festival in Koto Marapak

Vice Chair of the Batajau Seni Piaman Forum, Ribut Anton Sujarwo said the community was founded aiming to create an arts ecosystem especially in Padang Pariaman Regency and Kota Pariaman.

Every implementation of the Batajau Seni event includes local residents ranging from the younger generation to mothers by raising the excellence of art from each region.

He said for the arts in the village of Koto Marapak his side prioritized using tasa drum which in fact had a unique rhythm in the area.

Meanwhile, Head of Koto Marapak Village, Yuhaldi said that he wanted to increase the motivation of young people to develop traditional arts.

To develop the traditional arts, he invited artists to establish art galleries in the area.

Not only that, he continued to increase the enthusiasm of the youth he will carry out a cultural festival that will be held after the Eid 2020.
