Padang (ANTARA) - The Padang City Government helped enliven the W Sumatra Expo performance which took place in Medan, North Sumatra on November 14-17 2019 by carrying a minimalist, modern and ethnic concept stand which was displayed at Lapangan Merdeka, Medan.
"The three concepts were chosen after going through the evaluation stages of the previous year's W Sumatra Expo," said Head of the Economy of Padang Setdako, Swesti Fanloni, when contacted from Padang on Thursday.
According to Swesti after a meeting with the Regional Apparatus Organization (OPD) and its leadership elements, Padang chose a new concept by carrying a minimalist, modern, and ethnic stand model.
"Our stands are quite wide, taking four stands that we make into one, so that all original Padang products can be accommodated here," he said.
At the W Sumatra Expo this time, the Government of Padang included seven OPDs, such as the Board of Investment and Integrated Licensing (BPMPT) Office, the Culture and Tourism Office, the Cooperative and MSME Office, the Marine and Fisheries Service, the Food Service, the Trade Service, and the Economy Section.
"We always show new things. Because, in the previous expo we looked for a comparison with other cities, when there was something interesting, it was always an inspiration for us to look different from other regions, "he said.
At the Government of Padang stand, a digital destination ornament was displayed. An instagrammable angle is also attached so visitors can pose in that corner. In addition, The Government of Padang still shows the ethnic side by displaying the interior with the motif of "Kaluak Paku".
Including the roof stand patterned Kajang Padati, which is a traditional roof typical of the gadang house in Padang.
At the Padang Pemko stand, quite a number of local MSME products were on display. In addition there are also brochures, leaflets, clothing products, and others.
"We also display Batik Padang owned by Revans House, and others," he said.
