"Preparations and socialization are needed from now because on Monday is a busy day for traders with activities at the Koto Baru Market, Tanah Datar and Pasar Senin Padang Panjang," Deputy Mayor of Padang Panjang Asrul said in Padang Panjang on Tuesday.
TdS will be held for the eleventh time, scheduled for November 2 to 10 2019 with a total distance of 1,363 kilometers.
Padang Panjang is the host for the third stage finish location which starts from Lembah Harau, Lima Puluh Kota Regency.
Being a finish location plus a race schedule on market day, according to him, it needs better preparation especially in terms of socializing the implementation of the race to the community and securing the running of the race.
"When approaching the finish, the racer will spur his bike.This condition needs to be anticipated in order there are no activities along the path that will endanger the racers and the community," he said.
The local government together with relevant stakeholders held a coordination meeting to discuss preparations of the TdS and the socialization of the implementation of the race through the crowded spots, especially in the Padang Panjang area.
Acting Official Head of Padang Panjang Tourism Agency, Medi Rosdian, added that in the area there are several points that will be passed by racers, namely Terminal Bukit Surungan, Simpang Minang Fantasi, Jalan Soekarno Hatta, Jalan By Pass Kacang Kayu, Jalan Ahmad Yani, Simpang Tiga PDAM and others.
"Ricers will finish at Jalan Sudirman.
In addition to stage three, racers will also pass Padang Panjang at stage one of the Gandoriah-Istana Pagaruyung route and stage five Payakumbuh-Embun Pagi (Agam), " he said.
The bicycle race in 2019 not only promoted W Sumatra tourism but also Jambi Province with the participation of Kerinci Regency in stage seven as a start and finish location.
