Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of West Sumatra Province recorded the price of gabah (unhulled paddy separated from the stalks) at farmers level in the province rose by 1.16 percent in January 2018.
"Based on a survey of grain producer prices from 126 transactions in seven districts in West Sumatra during January 2018, dry paddy harvest prices rose from Rp5,297 per kilogram in December 2017 to Rp5,358 per kilogram in January 2018," West Sumatra BPS Head, Sukardi pointed out in Padang , Friday.
Meanwhile, dry gabah price in milling level increase by 1.17 percent from Rp5,391 per kilogram to Rp5,454 per kilogram, he said.
Price surveys were conducted in South Pesisir, Solok, Padang Pariaman, Agam, Tanah Datar, Limapuluh Kota, and Pasaman districts.
He mentioned at the farmer level, the highest price of gabah found in Solok Regency at Rp6,000 per kilogram.
While the lowest price is in Pasaman Regency worth Rp4,500 per kilogram, he said.
He explained based on President Instruction number 5. 2015 about gabah supplying, rice and rice distribution by government, new Government Purchasing Price is set since March 17, 2015. It is Rp3,750 per kilogram for the harvest of dry gabah in farmer level and Rp3,750 per kilogram in milling level.
Then, he added, based on monitoring, there is no gabah price cases that occur under the setting prices. (cha)
