Red Chili Price in Padang Reached  Rp24.000 Per Kilogram

Padang (ANTARA) - The price of local red chili rose from Rp. 18,000 to Rp. 24,000 per kilogram, or rose of Rp. 6,000 per kilogram in Pasar Raya Padang, W Sumatra.

“The red chili price begin to rise today,” Division Head of Supervision and Stabilization Price of The Padang City Trade Office, Heni Pusita stated in Padang, Monday.

She said the price of red chili from outside West Sumatra also began to rise to Rp. 24,000 per kilogram from previously only Rp. 20,000 per kilogram.

In addition, the basic necessities such as bulk cooking oil increase to Rp11.500 per kilogram from the previous only Rp11.000 and Sari Murni Oil price increase Rp14.000 from Rp13.000 per liter.

However, other basic necessities were still stable such as local cayenne pepper Rp34,000 per kilogram, green chili Rp14,000 per kilogram, potatoes Rp12,000 per kilogram, and garlic Rp14,000 per kilogram.

In addition, the white sugar price Rp13.000 per kilogram, yellowish sugar Rp14.000 per kilogram, and coarse salt Rp6.000 per kilogram.

"The price of chicken eggs is also stable at Rp15,000 per ten eggs, free-range chicken eggs at IDR 42,000 per board, and duck eggs at Rp75,000 per board.

Then the price of meat is still stable at Rp120,000 per kilogram, the price of kampong chickens is Rp50,000 per kilogram, and purebred chicken is Rp22,000 per kilogram.

"However, vegetable price such as tomatoes decreased Rp7.000 per kilogram from Rp8.000," she said.

Then, she explained, the price of onions also began to fall in the market, such as the large size of onion, which is currently only Rp20.000 per kilogram from Rp. 24000, the medium size of onion also down to Rp18.000 from Rp20.000 per kilogram.

She appealed to traders and buyers who visited Pasar Raya Padang to continue to comply with the COVID-19 health protocol.

"It aims to avoid the transmission of COVID-19 to traders and buyers, always to wear masks, washing hands and avoiding crowds," she said.
