Bukittinggi, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Mayor of Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra, M Ramlan Nurmatias said the central government will fully finance the rebuilding of Ateh Market's burning market on October 30, 2017.
"The central government is willing to rebuild Ateh Market until its completion," he said in Bukittinggi, Tuesday.
He said the municipal government had met several times with Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing (Pupera) related to the acceleration of rebuilding the market that became a shopping destination in the area.
As directed by Vice President of Republic of Indonesia, the development of the market must fully use the funds from the government or should not involve the private sector.
Originally planned development will use funds from central local governments.
"However, due to the limited financial condition of the region, in every meeting we will continue until the central government is willing to get up from the beginning to finish," he said.
With the central development going on, the need for such tenders for construction management and physical planning projects (DEDs) will be conducted in Jakarta.
Nevertheless, the development will still coordinate with City Government of Bukittinggi because the market still keeps building which has architecture of Minangkabau and pay attention to the condition of Bukittinggi area which prones to earthquake. (cha)
