Batusangkar (ANTARA) - Prices of basic necessities, especially red chilies, in a number of village markets in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra continue to rise this week.

He said the increase in the price of red chilies had occured since several this weeks because supply of chili from farmers decreased.
The same thing was said by a trader in the market Lis. She sold red chilies at a price range of IDR 45,000 per kilogram.
This increase was also influenced by the high price obtained from farmers, so that it also had an impact on the selling price.
"Previously, I only bought IDR. 30,000 per kilogram from farmers, now it has increased to IDR. 40,000, even more," she said.
Apart from red chilies, other basic necessities also increase such as shallots and green beans.
For shallots, currently it reaches IDR 30,000 per kilogram, an increase of around IDR 10,000 from the previous price, while green beans also rose at IDR 7,000 per kg.

She admitted that although the prices of several commodities had increased, public demand in the market was still stable.
