Padang (ANTARA) - Government of West Sumatra Provincial temporarily closed the Adityawarman Museum attraction to anticipate the spread of Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19).
The head of the Adityawarman Museum Getri AR, in Padang, on Wednesday confirmed this. He said based on the decision of the Governor through the West Sumatra Cultural Office officially closed the Adityawarman Museum from March 23, 2020 to an undetermined time.
According to him the closure of the museum was done as an anticipation to avoid the spread of COVID-19 outbreaks of tourists visiting the museum.
Actually, he said since a few weeks ago the Adityawarman Museum had begun less visitors. Even those present were only one to four people.
"Even when the government decides to move student study at home. The visitors are increasingly reduced," he said.
He said that besides tourists from out of town and abroad, usually the Adityawarman Museum visitors were mostly students who came from various regions.
"Usually every Sunday dozens of kindergarten students come to see the collections at the museum," he said.
According to him the decline in visits and the closure of the museum is not a problem, because it is to anticipate the spread of COVID-19 to visitors.
He hopes the COVID-19 outbreak will soon end in Indonesia and not reach West Sumatra.
He also appealed to the public to obey government regulations to avoid the crowd and always maintain the body's immunity in the form of eating nutritious food, getting enough rest, and washing hands diligently.
