Padang Panjang (ANTARA) - The government of Padang Panjang city, W Sumatra will reopen attractions in the area after the implementation of large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) ends on May 29, 2020.

"But before the attractions can be visited, we will make improvements within one week after the PSBB," said the Head of Padang Panjang Sports and Tourism Service, Maiharman in Padang Panjang on Wednesday.

Improvements will be made in all attractions, such as at the Minangkabau Cultural Information Documentation Center (PDIKM), the Lubuk Mata Kucing baths, and the Kubu Gadang Tourism Village.

The Improvement which is carried out is a form of preparation of the local government in the field of tourism in the new normal order and services in tourist objects will be different compared to the conditions before the COVID-19.

"All sectors are faced with new norma. In tourism, we still enforce the COVID-19 health protocol which should be obeyed by the community," he said.

In the enforcement of health protocols in a tourist attraction will involve all officers in the tourist attraction.

Every person who will visit should be checked his body temperature, if there is a visitor who feel not feeling good or there is symptoms of COVID-19 then, he will immediately coordinate with the Public Safety Center (PSC) 119 Padang Panjang service to be given treatment.

All officers at the tourist attraction will be equipped with personal protective equipment such as masks, gloves and other supporting equipment for protection and minimize direct contact with tourists.

"Although in a pandemic condition, we are optimistic that the tourism sector can rise again to contribute income to the region. We appeal the public to comply health protocols in 'new normal' conditions," he said.

While related to the new normal conditions for hotels and restaurants, he said that his party would still discuss with related parties.
