Pariaman (ANTARA) - The Government of Pariaman city, W Sumatra installed fences on all tourist object entrances in areas that were closed in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

"During the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB), our tourist attraction is temporarily closed so that there will be no crowds of residents," said Head of the Pariaman Communication and Information Office Hendri in Pariaman, Monday.

He said with the installation of the fence, tourists could not enter tourist attractions in the area so that no crowd could potentially spread COVID-19.

He said the installation of the fence was carried out by the COVID-19 Task Force consisting of the Civil Service Police Unit and the Fire Department, the Transportation Agency, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, and the police and military.

The installation of the fence is done by stretching the rope for Talao Pauh, while, access to other attractions is used iron fences and other materials that are guarded by officers.

While the conditions in the tourist attraction in the area are currently empty of tourist visits, but there are traders who sell every day in the region.

Hendri said that with the closure, the beach party activities on the Eid holiday this year will be abolished.

The closure of the road access is until the PSBB end, exactly on May 29, but the implementation of social restrictions can be extended based on an evaluation meeting.

"Today the provincial government together with the regency and city governments in W Sumatra will conduct an evaluation meeting on the implementation of the PSBB," he said.

Previously the Government of Pariaman city, W Sumatra made sure to close tourist attractions in the area during the Eid holiday because the area still implements large-scale social restrictions (PSBB) in order to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

He said if a tourist attraction in the area was opened then it was feared the spread of COVID-19 would occur in that area.
