Governor appeal West Sumatra people  to care about cancer

Padang (ANTARA) - The Governor of W Sumatra appealed W Sumatra people to care and maintain a healthy lifestyle to avoid cancer.

“Cancer is the number one killer and causes the death.” He said in Padang on Sunday.

This statement he conveyed in order to commemorate the Wold Cancer Day in W Sumatra Provincial level which was held on a Car Free Day (CFD) On Jalan Khatib Sulaiman in Padang.

Then, he also asked people to do a healthy lifestyle by maintain a regular diet, adequate rest, a balanced diet, and diligently exercising.

He also asked W Sumatra people always alert and maintain health because cancer can attact suddenly.

According to him the effort of early recognition to cancer diseaseneed to be taught intensively to people. It aims for prevention and minimizing the number of deaths due to cancer in W Sumatra.

“90 percent cancer disease caused by environmental factor not because of congenital diseases and hereditary factors,” he said.

Environmental factors such as unhealthy lifestyle,unhealthy food patterns, and cigarette smokes.

Unhealthy pattern like food containing preservatives and chemicals.

According to him food made from preservatives like fast food is more often consumed by young generation.

He said to minimize the risk of cancer towards the younger generation is doing the counseling about danger of cancer and socialization of healthy lifestyle
