Bukittinggi Prepares Five Job Trainings To Foster Entrepreneurial Interest

Bukittinggi, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Bukittinggi Municipality, West Sumatra is preparing five job training programs during 2018 to foster an entrepreneurial interest for job seekers in the area.

Head of Training and Productivity Section of Manpower, Department of Investment, One Stop Service, Industry and Manpower of Bukittinggi, Suzana Meutia Hassny in Bukittinggi, Tuesday, said the target of the training is to help participants in creating new jobs.

"The five programs are each followed by 16 participants with different schedule and length of training," she said.

The training will be held in the form of entrepreneurship scheduled in February 2018 for nine working days.

The goal of entrepreneurship training is the people who already have micro and small businesses to be able to expand the business up to middle or greater scale.

Next 30 days electronic mechanic in April 2018, sewn for 30 days in June 2018, cook for 15 days in September 2018 and beauty salon in October 2018.

The registration information for the training was carried out by installing banners at local Department of Investment, One Stop Service, Industry and Manpower Office.

She explained from the training program that has been implemented already existing participants who started their own business, although still on a small scale such as selling snacks and becoming employees in the field of services such as salon and mechanic.

"But on the other hand there are also obstacles when participants want to start their own business, they hit the capital so they can not open their own business," she said.

During 2017, there are 1,076 people as job seekers and 75 percent of them are undergraduate and the rest are high school graduates, she added. (cha)
