Solok Selatan prepares new normal regulations before opening tourist destinations

Padang Aro (ANTARA) - The Government of Solok Selatan Regency, W Sumatra has prepared a new normal regulation as a reference for managers and visitors before opening tourist destinations in the area.

"We prepare regulations for all crowded locations such as markets, tourist attractions and places of worship where all the rules will be combined in Regents Regulations," Head of the Solok Selatan Tourism and Culture Office Harry Trisnadi Padang Aro said on Monday.

For the tourism sector there are a number of points where tourist destinations are opened with the priority of serving small community travel packages such as families, offices, solo travel and other communities.

Furthermore, the tourist destination manager requires that visitors wear masks and before entering the temperature check at the gate.

In addition the manager should provide a place to wash hands with soap, and visitors must keep their distance during their activities in tourist destinations.

Destination managers may not display tourist attractions that cause crowds of visitors and foreign tourists should include a PCR test result or rapid test stating negative COVID-19.

He revealed, during the new normal is not all tourist destinations will be opened due to some reasons and health considerations.

Tourist destinations that will not be opened such as swimming pools or baths because it is difficult to implement health protocols for these destinations.

"In swimming pools is very difficult to apply health protocols, because when swimming can not wear a mask in the pool, the water will be inhaled by the mouth and nose," he said.

Regarding the local government revenue (PAD) target, he said still optimistic that it would be achieved even though in the COVID-19 pandemic situation, PAD had been discussed with TAPD so the target become Rp25 million this year.

PAD sources in the Solok Selatan tourism sector still rely on the hot water boom but in the new normal the destination will still be closed.

Tourist destinations that can be visited in the new normal such as Camintoran, Goa Batu Kapal or the Saribu Rumah Gadang area.
