Padang (ANTARA) - The Government of Padang will establish a Corona Mitigation Task Force totaling 1,000 volunteers who will be deployed to the field to voice efforts to prevent Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) to the public.
"We will form more than 1,000 volunteers to clean up every corner of the city of Padang, houses of worship, schools and public facilities as soon as possible," Padang Mayor Mahyeldi said in Padang on Sunday at a coordination meeting to prevent the spread of the corona virus.
According to him because the corona virus became a global pandemic and in Indonesia it was determined as a non-natural disaster so it was needed serious prevention efforts.
The Padang City Government will also continue to provide information every day related to the development of the corona virus, at the Padang City Communication and Information Office Comand Center at 03:00 P.M.
The Mayor stressed that all information or news relating to the corona virus must be sourced from the Padang City Health Office so that the public are not confused.
In addition, the Padang City Government continues to monitor people who travel abroad, especially from countries affected by the corona virus.
The Government of the Padang City will continue to record anyone who comes from abroad through the Health Agency, Sub-district and village offices in the Padang City.
Mahyeldi urges people to continue to cultivate a clean and healthy life so that they can increase their immune system.
While the Head of the Padang City Health Office Feri Mulyani Hamid said that he would continue to coordinate and monitor so that the spread of the corona virus in the Padang City would not be more widespread.
