Padang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Padang Municipality, West Sumatra will hold the Padang Indian Ocean Music Festival (PIOMFest) on December 8 to 10, 2017 as a step to strengthen cooperative relations between the countries along the Indian Ocean or IORA.
"PIOMFest is still part of the cooperation between the countries that belong to IORA organization for the field of culture," Padang Mayor Mahyeldi Ansharullah stated in Padang on Wednesday.
According to him, PIOMFest is involving musicians from four countries namely Indonesia, Singapore, Japan and India which will perform original music of each.
Its purpose is to strengthen unity among IORA countries especially the development of art in the world.
Other targets is related to the strengthening cooperation in tourism marketing and local wisdom of each country in the world.
Head of Tourism and Culture of Padang, Medi Iswandi mentioned PIOMFest activities will be held at Siti Nurbaya Bridge.
The festival activity starts on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 08.00 p.m. until 10.30 p.m. and the next two days will be held from 03.30 p.m. until 10.30 p.m.. (cha)
