Padang holds the 2019 Siti Nurbaya Festival in three places

Padang (ANTARA) - The Government of Padang City held the 2019 Siti Nurbaya Festival as one of the cultural and tourism events by holding a number of activities on 21 to 24 November 2019.

"In the previous year the implementation was centered in one place, this year it was carried out in three places simultaneously so that, the people of Padang City knew that there were arts and cultural activities held by the Government of Padang City," said the Head of the Padang City Tourism and Culture Office, Arfian in Padang on Wednesday.

According to him the first location is at Pantai Cimpago area as the main stage, the second location is at Gelanggang Siliah Baganti KAN Pauh IX Kuranji Office, and the third at the Simpang Kalumpang area, Koto Tangah District.

He mentioned in a series of activities ranging from traditional culinary competitions, Minang dance competitions, randai competitions, gamad song competitions and Minang song competitions.

Then the Traditional Children game competition, the traditional and modification "kuruang" shirt competition, the modification of the Muslim bride contest, the "Suntiang cucuak" contest and the festival photo contest.

In addition there are also some other interesting activities and entertainment such as photo exhibitions, Indian film screenings, music performances and cultural arts.

He conveyed this activity as a means of introducing Minang arts and culture to local and foreign tourists.

Arfian explained the local culture in the city of Padang is quite diverse ranging from arts such as "rabab", "saluang", "dendang pauh" and others.

While in the culinary field there are a variety of traditional dishes and even worldwide such as rendang.
