Pariaman, (Antara Sumbar) - The development plan of Belibis beach resort located in Padang Biriak Village, Pariaman Municipality, West Sumatra, is still constrained by the administration of land ownership.

"The local government has a plan to develop tourism area in there, but until now some of land ownership status does not legal because it borders directly with Padangpariaman District," Head of local Culture and Tourism (Disbudpar), Effendi Jamal told in Pariaman, Friday.

The area that directly borders with Padangpariaman is considered potential to be developed as a regional tourism vehicle.

Some tourism objects that will be developed include a water park in Laguna or salt lake near the coast with one hectare area.

"In accordance with mayor direction, the location is temporarily postponed to work until it has administrative clarity," he said.

That is, to avoid conflicts of interest between the parties concerned after the development of water park tourism area.

Moreover, the location of Belibis Beach area to the north is directly adjacent to the School of Medium Fisheries Enterprises (SUPM) located in Padangpariaman.

Regarding the commitment to develop the area, local government has been seeking assistance from central government to maximize existing resources.

Meanwhile, Village Head of Padang Biriak-Biriak, North Pariaman Sub-district, Devi Delwandri said the tourism area is potential to be developed as economic support for local community.

"Approximately one kilometer length, and considered suitable for the development of water parks with Islamic tourism concept," he added.

In addition to the planning to form water rides object, local village will develop a local culinary tourism center that supports community's economy.

In general, to develop the tourism potential of Belibis Beach, at least requires a budget of Rp800 million. (cha)
