West Pasaman Gov't Spreads 15,000 Nila Seeds

Simpang Empat, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of West Pasaman District, West Sumatra through Fisheries Department spreads 15 thousand nila seeds in Batang Ranji River, Nagari Nagari Persiapan Ranah Sungai Magelang, Gunung Tuleh Sub-district.

"The seeds of this fish are given to the ban group that is released directly to Batang Ranji River," West Pasaman Fishery Service Head, Arial Effendi stated in here on Saturday.

He said the provision of nila seeds in order to improve surrounding residents econoomy.

"Fish ban is released periodically at certain moments, the result is partially given to orphans and help TPA in the area," he noted.

It continues to increase fish production in West Pasaman through the provision of fish seeds in Fish Seed Hall in Suka Menanti Padang Tujuh.

It targets the production of fresh fish and sea in the area about 116,220 tons in 2018.

He mentioned for the cultivation of fresh fish, it will provide assistance of freshwater fish seeds at number of two million which will be given to 300 groups of freshwater fish farming.

"The assumption will produce 180 tons of production, which means that the total production of fresh fish in 2018 reaches 6,720 tons," he remarked.

According to him, in addition to providing fish seeds, it also provides assistance supporting infrastructure such as seeds, feed and other equipment.

In addition to raise freshwater fish production, Fisheries Department also established a marine catch fishery program with a production target of 109,500 tons. (cha)
