Padang Panjang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Padang Panjang Municipality, West Sumatra begins to develop tourism sector in the area to be a festival city, Secretary of the local Tourism Office, Dalius stated in Padang Panjang, on Monday.
He said that local tourism development direction has been prepared in draft local regulations on tourism development master plan of 2018-2025.
"Padang Panjang is a small area which is located in the crossing line so that the potential condition can be developed from the tourists stop in Padang Panjang," he explained.
Because it becomes a shelter, it encourages people's economy, especially culinary and handicraft business.
When passing in Padang Panjang, he thought that tourists do not just stop by to enjoy the food while resting and shopping crafts, but there must be a tourist attraction that can make tourists stay longer before continuing the journey to the area they want.
He assessed the potential that already exists are the arts of culture, agriculture, education, sports and creative economy. It can support the development of tourism plans of the area.
For development as a festival city, it needs cooperation between regional devices.
