Tanah Datar Parliament Appreciates Government in Tourism Development

Batusangkar, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Chairman of Tanah Datar Parliament, Anton Yondra appreciates the local government's step in developing tourism sector in the area. "Tanah Datar Parliament appreciates and supports tourism development conducted by district government," he said in Batusangkar on Monday. He mentioned Tanah Datar is one area in West Sumatra that has tourism potentials including cultural tourism, history and nature tourism. According to him, the district government has also prepared a master plan for tourism development in the area, so it is expected to have a positive impact on society and the region. The visit of President Joko Widodo to the Most Beautiful Village of Pariangan in the series of National Press Day (HPN) some time ago can be a motivation to develop the area. Besides, he said Istano Basa Pagaruyuang is one of areas that became the main destination for tourists who come to visit the West Sumatra. "In addition to these two points, Tanah Datar has other tourist destinations that attract tourists to come to visit," he said. For the future he hopes that the district government continues to increase efforts to develop tourism. Earlier Head of Tourism, Youth and Sports Office of Tanah Datar, Edi Susanto said it was focusing on fixing up three attractions that are prepared to become a leading tourist destinations in the area. "Based on the provincial and central circulation to choose the leading tourist destinations, there are three attractions selected, namely Istano Basa Pagaruyuang, Puncak Pato and Pariangan Tourism Village," he added.
