Padang Aro, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of South Solok District, West Sumatra, immediately made Jorong Simancuang, Nagari Alam Pauah Duo, as an organic area.

"Simancuang will be made an environmentally friendly organic area because it has successfully managed the environment well and utilize it well so that it is economical," South Solok Regent Muzni Zakaria stated at the inauguration of organic rice support facilities in Padang Aro, Monday.

Simancuang still has a natural area and since 2017 began to develop an organic rice area of 20 hectares.

Simancuang is also the first region in West Sumatra in the management of nagari (traditional village) forests that are now pilot for other areas.

"The government supports the development of organic rice in Simancuang including other commodities," he said.

South Solok now has 40 hectares of organic rice land in Kalu and Simancuang respectively 20 hectares with harvest every hectare reaches 4.8 tons.

For organic rice in the Sungai Kalu already has a certificate issued in December 2017 so that the selling price is high, he added. (cha)
