Pariaman (ANTARA) - The Government of Pariaman City, W Sumatra, enforced entrance fees at tourist attractions to increase local revenue from the tourism sector.
"Levies are carried out starting at 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. every day," said Acting officer of the Pariaman City Tourism and Culture Offices in Pariaman, on Tuesday.
He said that to carry out the policy, his party placed six retribution posts such as on the archipelago parking bridge, near the train station, in front of the Asean Youth Park monument, near the Cermin Beach, the entrance of Kata Beach, and on the pier of Angso Duo Island.
Entrance fees to attractions in the area for foreign tourists are Rp. 25 thousand and children Rp. 15 thousand, while for domestic tourists are Rp. 5,000 and Rp. 3,000 for children.

He conveyed that previously tourists were have not to pay admission tickets to attractions in the area but, in the new normal adaptation period his party enforced entrance fee on Friday, Saturday and Sunday to regulate the number of tourist visits.
But start from today, the entrance fees into tourist attractions in the area was implemented every day.
He said that for traders and local residents, he applied a special identifier so that they could freely enter the beach tourism area.

Previously the Pariaman city government set on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday as well as national holidays as the day of withdrawal of entrance fees to tourist attractions in the area during the new normal era .
During the new normal in Pariaman city, until June 29, 2020 the collection of levies was carried out by the Task Force for the Acceleration of Covid-19 Handling at the entrance of the tourist attraction area.
Whereas withdrawal of parking fees in tourist areas is carried out by parking officers.
