Padang (ANTARA) - This year Padang City, W Sumatra Province has got trust again as the first area outside of Java to host the Indonesian Channel which was held on 11-12 October 2020.
The decision as host is a joint agreement between the Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Governor of W Sumatra.
It was conveyed by the Head of the W Sumatra Province Tourism Office, Novrial on Saturday.
The Head of the Tourism Office said, the program was initiated by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs by inviting youth from 77 countries to study local arts and culture in areas such as Padang, Solo, Banyuwangi, Makassar and Kutai for three months.
So, on the last week before return to their country would be held cultural arts show by all participants in Padang that also folowed by ambassador and each family from their country.
“For Indonesia and W Sumatra this program is an effective and efficient promotion choices with the existence of 77 foreigner as “Friends of Indonesia” and “Padangist” who continue to promote W Sumatra on Social media, media, and formal coverage, start from the arrival until they return to their country after the years,” he said.
Novrial said, this program made emotional ties through cultural activities between them with foster mother and dance studio.
So, many of them return to the city that ever they lived and even they brought their family and their friends from their country.
"The plan to carry out these activities has been carried out through a meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the leadership of the director of public diplomacy, Yusrondan Ambhari with the W Sumatra Provincial Government represented by the Department of Tourism and so on conducted an audience to report the stages of preparation to the Governor on Friday afternoon (28/2) ", he said.
