1,042 W Sumatra Medical Personnel To Provide Health Service During Eid

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - West Sumatra Provincial Government alerted 1,042 medical personnel who spread in 99 posts to provide health services to the community during Eid 2018.

"The number is a combination of provincial medical teams and 19 districts or municipalities," Head of West Sumatra Health Service Merry Yuliesday said in here on Friday.

She said it was related to the readiness of local governments in providing services to millions of travelers that are expected to visit West Sumatra in 2018.

The medical personnel prepared consist of 121 doctors and 921 nurses with different compositions of each post.

From the province, it prepared five doctors and 35 nurses, the rest are in the district and municipality.

Each region prepares a different amount of medical personnel such as Padang alerted 22 doctors and assisted with 115 nurses.

While in Pasaman District, there are nine doctors and eight nurses. Dharmasraya has eight doctors and 37 nurses and Sijunjung District has one doctor and three nurses.

Then, there are one doctor and five nurses in West Pasaman District, five doctors and three nurses in Limapuluh Kota District, three doctors and 29 nurses in South Pesisir District and seven doctors and six nurses in Padang Pariaman District.

Next, Payakumbuh has 10 doctors and 20 nurses, Solok has four doctors and six nurses, Agam alerted one doctor and 19 nurses, Mentawai Islands District has nine doctors and three nurses, Pariaman has one doctor and seven nurses.

Meanwhile, Sawahlunto has seven doctors and 24 nurses, Bukittinggi has three doctors and 50 nurses, Solok Municipality has no doctor but there were 136 nurses on alert, South Solok District 15 doctors and 300 nurses.

Tanah Datar has 14 doctors and 128 nurses and Padang Panjang alerted one doctor and 22 nurses.

"The medical team in charge of establishing health posts in places where the flow of homecoming is considered such high volume of vehicles and accident-prone," he said.

The establishment of health posts is also done at local health centers which are located in strategic places.

"The 99 health posts will be open for up to 24 hours," Merry said.

In addition to the homecoming route, health posts are established at several points of interest in West Sumatra to provide medical assistance and minimize casualties in the event of an accident. (cha)
