Head of Padang Airport Authority Office of Padang Region 6, Agus Subagyo in here on Thursday (June 7) said that during a hearing with Commission V of House of Representatives in the framework of a specific job visit to monitor the preparation of homecoming in West Sumatra held in VIP room of Minangkabau International Airport.
According to him, because the Jakarta-Padang route is in very solid category, it will conduct extra supervision during Eid homecoming.
"This is done to ensure the service at airport to travelers done well," he said.
He added that it will have an additional flight at Minangkabau International Airport with capacity of 108 thousand passengers served by six airlines in this year's Eid.
Meanwhile, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II Minangkabau International Airport Dwi Ananda said that the airport runway length has reached 2,750 meters and it can be landed by wide bodied aircraft.
For apron capacity, it can accommodate eight parking aircraft at the same time, he said.
While the terminal capacity currently reaches 2.7 million passengers per year although the number of passengers has reached four million people in 2017.
