2,245 Payakumbuh Residents To Receive Basic Needs Assistance

Payakumbuh, (Antaranews Sumbar) - A total of 2,245 poor people in Payakumbuh, West Sumatra immediately receive the aids of basic needs programmed by local government that will be distributed in Ramadhan (fasting month).

"Data collection and preparation of basic commodities to be given to 2,245 residents has been completed, later it will be sumitted," Head of Cooperative Industry and Trade of Payakumbuh, Dahler stated in here, Tuesday.

He targeted the handover of aid could be completed in the first week of Ramadhan.

"Since the first Ramadan, aid will begin to be channeled and it targets that the distribution will complete in a week of fasting," he said.

In one aid package, residents will receive two liters of cooking oil, two kilograms sugar, three kilograms of rice, and others.

The distribution mechanism is coordinated by municipal government with sub-district level government, as well as village level.

"We coordinate with the sub-district and village so that people can easily pick it up," he remarked.

To collect the aid, each resident is charged a fee of Rp25,000.

Earlier, the Ramadhan aid program was a routine program that has been budgeted annually by local government

The aid program that has a total budget of Rp199 million is expected to help residents in fulfilling basic needs.

In another part, Payakumbuh Government also prepares a number of programs to stabilize the price of staple goods during Ramadhan, including the implementation of market operations. (cha)
