Head of Pariaman Tourism Office won an award for his innovation during  pandemic

Pariaman (ANTARA) - Head of the Tourism and Culture Office of Pariaman City, West Sumatra, Dwi Marhen Yono, won the Leadership and Professional award in the tourism category from the Indonesian Award Magazine because of his innovation during the COVID-19 pandemic so that it became an inspiration for the tourism sector.

"Alhamdulillah, everything that has been done with the team has received recognition and appreciation from independent institutions," said Marhen through the Head of Public Communication Information at the Pariaman City Information and Communication Agency, Eka Putra Pernanda in Pariaman, Sunday.

He said the innovations were forming a creative tourism promotion team uploaded on social media, holding creative video competitions, and visiting tourist objects by cycling.

He explained that the creative team would prepare interesting news content about tourism and the creative economy in Pariaman, which content was uploaded to social media every day.

Then the creative video competition is holding a video competition for all villages and sub-districts whose aim is to explore the potential of the village and maximize tourism promotion in Pariaman.

Meanwhile, for Visit Destinations by visiting tourist objects in Pariaman by cycling together which is carried out every Friday and also conducts discussions and hears the aspirations of tourism actors in the area.

Marhen is one of the 30 figures who won awards in different categories from the magazine which was announced on Friday (10/23).

The award will be an additional energy and enthusiasm to develop tourism and creative economy in Pariaman, he said.

"This award is certainly presented to all the people of Pariaman City and especially the creative team," he said.

He invited all parties to follow the health protocols of the COVID-19 and continue to work hard, smartly and sincerely to develop tourism.
