Padang (ANTARA) - PT Angkasa Pura II as the manager of the Minangkabau International Airport in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra implemented minimum operating hours by shortening operational hours to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) outbreak.
"From April 14, 2020 to May 14, 2020 Minangkabau International Airport will enforce operating hours to 08.00 am - 08.00 pm from previously at 05.00 am - 12.00 am," said Executive General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura II Minangkabau International Airport Yos Suwagiyono in Padang Pariaman On saturday.
According to him the reduction in operational hours is aimed at maintaining the health aspects of passengers and airport personnel.
This policy has been approved by the regulator with the issuance of Notice to Airmen regarding operating hours for each airport under the auspices of PT Angkasa Pura II, he said.
He conveyed that at present the most important thing is the health and safety of aircraft passengers and airport personnel.
"We have adjusted operational patterns and adjusted operating hours to enable applied the concept of work from home and physical distancing for operational personnel at the airport," he said.
However, he said that his party remained on standby if there were aircraft that were experiencing technical and operational problems and needed the airport to land.
"In addition, the airport will still be opened if there are planes that are forced to land outside the airport operating hours," he said.
He said that through existing operational patterns, BIM could optimize its facilities and personnel amid the global pandemic COVID-19.
"At this time has been applied a mandatory rule to using masks for all officers, visitors and users," he said
