Padang (ANTARA) - The Coco's Tour travel agency that brought 150 Chinese tourists to travel to W Sumatra decided to bring all its guests to stay at one of the hotels in Padang after a rejection of a number of parties.

"After coordinating with relevant stakeholders from both the Tourism Office and the Police, we decided to keep guests in the hotel," Coco's Tour Representative, Yunando said in Padang on Monday.

According to him the rejection of a number of parties for fear of the spread of the corona virus is a test that must be faced as tourism actors.

"We can understand it, but the plan to bring in tourists has long been conceived and we also do not suspect that this virus has occurred," he said.

Yunando said that since the arrival of the tourists had been invited to the City of Pariaman watching the Ape School and to the City of Bukittinggi.

"To go to Bukittinggi, we have been taken to Panorama and Lubang Jepang (Japan Hole)," he said.

But for further trips such as to Tanah Datar District, which was planned to be canceled and all guests were taken to Padang.

He hopes that there will be no complaints from tourists due to changes in travel schedules.

The response of the Chinese tourists who had been in W Sumatra for two days said that so far they had enjoyed enough tourism in W Sumatra.

They said during their visit to Indonesia, only in W Sumatra they received an extraordinary reception, the food was simple but it felt luxurious, said Yunando.

For early repatriation due to the insistence of a number of parties he said it was not an easy matter.

It took two days at the most because it had to go through many procedures and permits ranging from the Ministry of Tourism, the Chinese Embassy, Immigration, Angkasa Pura II to the airlines.

"For the airlines, we have proposed since October 2019, but new permits will be issued early January 2020," he said.

He made sure the arrival of the next wave was canceled because the situation was not conducive.

He hopes that this incident will not dampen agents in China to promote tourism in W Sumatra.
