Padang (ANTARA) - The Padang City Government will make the Permindo area in Pasar Raya as a culinary center at night by holding the Permindo Night Market on November 2, 2019.
Deputy Mayor of Padang, Hendri Septa in Padang, on Saturday said that for the first stage, the culinary market will be held once a week, every Saturday night.
"Later the road will be closed so cars cannot pass and traders can fill the road to sell," he said.
He conveyed that Permindo Night Market will start at 17.00 WB and around 100 traders will fill both sides of the area with various culinary and other merchandise with a target audience of up to 1.00 people.
According to him since the arrangement by the Padang City Government, the area on Permindo Street looked beautiful decorated with various ornaments, following the presence of the tents of street vendors which neatly arranged.
This area is expected to become a shopping area for various goods, including the work of persons with disabilities as it is known that this area has been designated a disability friendly area.
"With the culinary market in the Permindo region later, it is hoped that it will further boost the rate of economic growth in the city of Padang," he said.
The Padang City Government will make Jalan Permindo a shopping tourism area such as Malioboro Street in Yogyakarta.
Permindo Street is the right place to be a shopping tourism area because of its strategic location and close to Pasar Raya of Padang.
Permindo area has been reorganized by the city government by repairing the sidewalks so it becomes a convenient shopping place.
The pedestrian in this area also provides a special lane for the disabled and the pedestrian ceiling also has a small umbrella installed which adds to the beautiful Permindo area.
