Padang (ANTARA) - Visibility in Padang, Sumatra Barat, has returned to normal, which is seven to nine kilometers compared to only two to three kilometers previously.
"It is estimated that in the future the visibility in West Sumatra will gradually improve because based on the observation BMKG will rain in some areas that are monitored by the hotspots such as in Jambi and South Sumatra," said Head of Observation and Information Section of the Minangkabau BMKG Yudha Nugraha in Padang on Thursday.
He also said that based on the observation of the Global Atmospheric Monitoring Station in Bukittinggi, air quality for now has entered the good category
"Considering that visibility has gradually returned to normal, people can return to activities outside the room," he continued.
He also said that visibility at the Minangkabau International Airport (BIM) had gradually returned to normal.
In addition, it is currently estimated that there is potential for moderate to heavy rainfall at night in the Pasaman Barat, Agam, Padang Pariaman, Pariaman, Padang, Pesisir Selatan and Mentawai Islands regions.
Current air temperatures are estimated at 18 to 30 degrees Celsius with humidity reaching 70 to 98 percent.
"The direction of the wind is estimated to originate from Southeast to Southwest with speeds of 04 to 18 Kilometers per hour," he continued.
The weather forecast for the next two days is still cloudy in the morning with the potential for light rain from afternoon to evening and night in the Pasaman region, Pasaman Barat, Agam, Solok Regency and surrounding areas.
