Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The flow of homecoming in West Sumatra on D-2 is relatively smooth or there is no serious congestion like the homecoming flow in 2017, Governor Irwan Prayitno stated.

"We have checked and it is known that everything went smoothly," he said when reviewing the readiness of a number of security posts of Eid 2018 in here on Wednesday (June 13).

According to him, the condition is maintained to good coordination from all parties including Polri, TNI, local government and private sector.

In relation to the coming travelers, Irwan noted that travelers arrival through the air passage up to D-2 reached 89,000 people or it increased 10,000 people from the same period in 2017.

In the meantime, West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Police Fakhrizal said there are three main routes that usually stalled in Eid based on field reports namely Padang-Bukittinggi, Padang-South Pesisir and Padang-Dharmasraya which were observed smoothly.

"There is a stagnant, but it is not jammed," he remarked.

In order to maintain safe conditions during homecoming and backflow, West Sumatra Police established 31 service posts and 69 security posts with approximately 6,000 joint personnel of Polri, TNI and local government. (cha)
