West Pasaman Holds Cheap Market To Stabilize Food Prices

Simpang Empat, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) of West Pasaman District, West Sumatra holds a bazaar and a cheap market to stabilize food prices in three sub-districts during Ramadhan (fasting month) 1439 Hijriah.

"The bazaar and the low-cost market will be held at Grand Mosque of Pasaman Sub-district," Official of Cooperative, SME Office, Budi Aulia stated in here on Friday (May 25).

He said it prepared about 2,000 packages. One package consists of three items of goods namely cooking oil, sugar and syrup.

The activity lasted for two weeks in the future. One package market price is Rp45,500. His side subsidize Rp7,500 so people only buy Rp38,000.

"Every kind of goods purchased by people in the market stand is subsidized for Rp2,500 or about Rp7,500 per one package," he remarked.

It will hold a bazaar and cheap market in three sub-districts namely in Pasaman, Tuleh and Ranah Batahan.

He mentioned the presence of bazaars and cheap markets by selling subsidized goods aims help the less fortunate people during Ramadhan and Eid al-Fitr. (cha)
