Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Pariaman Municipality, West Sumatra is preparing 31 tourism police personnel to serve the visitors and support the progress of tourism sector in the area, Pariaman Mayor, Mukhlis Rahman stated in Pariaman, Thursday.
"The tourism police are placed in various tourism objects in Pariaman," he remarked.
In addition to the task of enforcing the Regional Regulation in the area of tourist attraction, the tourism police also has a role in guiding tourists who visit.
The application is in line with the mission and vision of Pariaman to develop the tourist destination, environment-based creative economy, culture and religion.
It is a privilege and innovation which is undertaken by government of Pariaman in supporting and advancing the world of tourism, including preparing skilled of human resources.
"The government is not only developing tourism infrastructure, but also the readiness of human resources," he stated.
Meanwhile, Head of Police Precinct and Fire Service Unit of Pariaman, Handrizal Fitri said there are 31 tourism police personnel spread in various touristm objects.
The number has not been able to serve visitors who come from various regions, but at least there should be 40 tourism police personnel or five people in each point to serve and guide visitors, he pointed out.
It said some of the tourism police are also equipped with the ability to speak English to serve foreign tourist.
"Currently, there are only six people who are fluent in English, but the ability will continue to be improved," he added. (cha)
