Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Four conservation ponds which is functioning for water conservation will be built in West Sumatra Province through Sumatra River Basin Center V with a project value of approximately Rp23 billion.
Head of Sumatra River Basin Center V Maryadi Utama in Padang, Monday, said the development of the pond is one of the efforts in increasing food security in West Sumatra.
"Project implementation of the pond is in the auction process," he said.
He mentioned the location of ponds include in Sengon, Limapuluh Kota District with a volume of 30 thousand cubic meters with the value of work package of Rp7 billion.
Then in Bagurai, Agam with a volume of 10 thousand cubic meters with the value of Rp8 billion package.
"While in the Darek Ulakan embankment, Limapuluh Kota is a continuation from the previous one. It also still in the auction process with the package value of Rp4 billion and volume of five thousand cubic meters," he explained.
Besides, in Rawang, Agam with a volume of five thousand cubic meters and the value of work package of Rp4 billion.
He explained that the pond is a pond-shaped building that serves to suppress the availability of water and can be utilized during the lack of water in the dry season. (cha)
