W Sumatra is Targeted To Get 8.3 Trillion Investment in 2018

Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - West Sumatra Province receives an investment target from central government of Rp8.3 trillion in 2018, up 20 percent from 2017 which targets of Rp6.5 trillion.

"Investment in West Sumatra will still be dominated by renewable energy, tourism and fisheries," Head of One Stop Service (DPM PPT) of West Sumatra, Maswar Dedi remarked in Padang, Tuesday.

Investment in renewable energy is coming from PT Supreme Energy Muara Laboh which will operate again after getting fresh fund injection from its partners.

Then PT Hitay Daya Energy which will manage the geothermal around Mount Talang, Solok District.

While investment in tourism sector relates to some potential such as Mandeh, Mentawai and Gunung Padang Area.

Then, in the field of fishery, a number of investors from Singapore began to explore the processing of capture fisheries.

"We continue to promote the potential of the region to get more investment," he said.

The amount of investment that entered West Sumatra in 2017 reached Rp5.7 trillion exceeded the target in the Medium Term Development Plan of Rp4.7 trillion.

The amount is dominated by Foreign Investment of USD438,001,000 or equivalent Rp6 trillion with exchange rate Rp13,700. That does not include Domestic Investment of Rp22.8 billion.

Although it has far exceeded the target area, but the figure is still not fulfill the target given by central government at number of Rp6.5 trillion, he added. (cha)
