Padang Panjang, (Antara Sumbar) - The government of Padang Panjang Municipality, West Sumatra continues to raise religion of local community by holding a festival of "Serambi Mecca".
"In accordance with the nickname of our city Serambi Mecca, the atmosphere and religious nature of society must always be nurtured," Head of local Tourism Department Hendri Fauzan stated in Padang Panjang, Thursday (Sept 14).
Activity of Serambi Mecca festival, he said will also explore the ability of young people in the field of religion.
"At the festival of Serambi Mecca, it will also hold various Islamic nuances later," he pointed out.
Related to religion, if it does not often to be fostered, he said, it will be faded by the progress of times that is currently happening.
The young generation is expected to be wise to respond any information that develops at this time so they will not fall into the things that are useful, he continued.
From Serambi Mecca festival itself, Padang Panjang Government has compiled a series of activities to be held on September 20 to 21, 2017.
"On the first day, we hold a joint dhikr at the mosque of jihad, at dawn and at the same time parade," he said.
After that, on the second day, it will hold tausiah in the field of Khatib Sulaiman with lecturer kasifheer from Jakarta.
He hopes the support from all elements of society to make the event success.
Residents of Padang Panjang, Kaspuri supports the festival activities of Serambi Mecca organized by local government.
"Activities that can inspire the nature of religion should be done often because it is one of strongest fortress to keep young generation in useful activities, especially related to faith and piety," he added. (cha)
