UNP Distributes 1,000 basic food packages to students

Padang (ANTARA) - The Padang State University (UNP), W Sumatra distributed 1,000 basic food packages to students who still live in the boarding houses.

"This is a form of concern from Padang State University to students so that they can carry out learning activities optimally in the situation of the COVID-19 outbreak," said UNP Rector, Prof. Ganefri in Padang, Tuesday.

He explained that the basic food packages for the students in addition to supporting student lectures, it also helped alleviate the student family needs who affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, Ganefri said that the main target of the provision of basic food assistance was students who still live in their boarding house, and they were still in Padang.

"The students cannot return to their hometown because of the impact of this COVID-19, basic food packages consisting of rice, eggs, sugar, cooking oil, instant noodles, tea and coffee," he said.

He appealed to UNP students who are currently still in Padang or other regions to help the government to stop the spread of COVID-19 by obeying the rules from the government.

He also hopes that although lectures at UNP are currently conducted in an online system, the students should keep spirit in following lectures until the pandemic ends.

Ganefri said that the lecture at Padang State University from January to June 2020 was conducted online using the platform http://elearning.unp.ac.id or other online platforms.

In addition, the final semester exams are also carried out online according to a schedule that has been made, it will be held on June 8 to 19 2020.

The policy was affirmed through a circular letter from UNP Rector 1593 / UN35 / AK / 2020 April 6, 2020 about campus activities to be wary against the COVID-19 Pandemic.
