This was conveyed by UNP Deputy Rector I Prof. Yunia Wardi at the opening of the 2019 New Student Campus Life Introduction (PKKMB) activity for independent entry and achievement at the UNP Auditorium on Monday.
"Now we are taking care of all the requirements and are targeted to be able to run this year or next year," he said.
He explained, the medical study program to be opened was general medicine with sports specifications. But at this time it could not ensure the faculty that would oversee the study program.
"Certainly we are waiting for permission from the minister first, and then determining the relevant faculty to oversee the medical study program," he said.
Furthermore, he said, in preparing the medical study program, he planned to open lectures in the Bukittinggi area.
"UNP's medical education hospital will be Achmad Mochtar Hospital under the academic guidance of the University of Indonesia (UI) and Andalas University (Unand)," he said.
He said, the opening of study programs for each university was a good prospect, but it depends on the interest of the study program itself.
