"We meet with representatives from Jambi today or tomorrow, discussing the plan for the region to enter the TdS route on 2019," Deputy Governor of West Sumatra Nasrul Abit said in Padang on Friday.
He said it was related to the effort to present innovation in the implementation of TdS on 2019, so that it became a favorite place for the community.
According to him, the absolute requirement that must be agreed upon was to improve road conditions between Solok Selatan - Kerinci - Sungai Penuh - Painan.
The authority of the road is at the Jambi IV National Road Implementation Center, not the Padang III National Road Implementation Center. Therefore the meeting must also involve the vertical institutions.
"Now we also see the condition of the road. Hopefully Jambi will be the host and can be implemented in this year, "he said.
Meanwhile the Head of West Sumatra Tourism Office, Oni Yulfian admitted that annual bicycle racing needed new touches and innovations in order to maintain existence as an attractive international arena, not only for riders but also for the society.
TdS is a place of pride in West Sumatra that has become global. In the 10th implementation in 2019, the budget is mostly borne by the regions.
The West Sumatra Province allocates around Rp.8 billion for this activity supported by the budget of the regency and city.
Unfortunately, there were still regions that did not budget for lokal government budget (APBD) until they become a negative note in the implementation of this year, he said.
