Batusangkar, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Regent of Tanah Datar District, West Sumatra, Irdinansyah Tarmizi hopes that the implementation of Minangkabau International Scout Camp II or international camp can promote the tourism potential of the area.
"It becomes an opportunity to promote tourism potential through the activity, both nature tourism, culture, history and attractions that are still encountered in the midst of our society," he said in here on Saturday.
A number of countries are expected to participate in the international camp in Tanah Datar on November 10-17, 2018, among others are Iran, Azerbaijan and several countries in Asia.
It is especially the potential of religious tourism in Tanah Datar which can also be introduced, such as the existence of several historic ancient mosques through the camp activities like Grand Mosque Limo Kaum.
The Regent said the participants that reached 1,000 people from various regions in West Sumatra, national and abroad are ready to support the implementation of the activities.
To smooth the activities, he instructed Organization of Regional Device (OPD) related to facilitate the activities.
In addition, it is expected that the activities can be done smoothly and successfully so that the main objectives can be achieved. (cha)
