Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi said that airport train namely Minangkabau Ekspress railway construction which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo cost more than Rp200 billion.
In general, the construction of the airport train is done seriously since last three years. With a strong commitment from president, the train can be inaugurated finally, he said in here on Monday.
"The President keeps reminding and asking related to the time of BIM's train is over so we try to solve it," he stated.
He said the funds of more than Rp200 billion are sourced from State Budget (APBN) which is used to produce trains made by PT INKA and other needs.
The train will connect the Padang Station to Tabing Station, Duku Station and BIM Station.
He said that currently there are only three railways connecting urban areas with airports, namely Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Kualanamu Airport and Minangkabau International Airport.
Each passenger who boarded the train will be charged Rp10 thousand from Padang Station to BIM Station with 40 minutes travel time.
Meanwhile, if the passenger used the train from Padang Station to Tabing, it only charged Rp5 thousand. (cha)
