Kopiah Increasing Orders To Pariaman Craftmen Reached 100 Percent

Pariaman, (Antaranews Sumbar) - Craftsmen of national kopiah or peci (traditional cap) in Pariaman Municipality, West Sumatra received many orders into Ramadhan (fasting month) 1439 Hijriah, moreover the increasing orders reached 100 percent than daily days.

One of the national peci craftsmen, Nasril (55) in here on Saturday said that the increasing occurs because community needs of it is quite high, including from various regions of the province to neighboring areas.

Due to high number of orders, he was forced to reject some consumer demand due to constrained time and labor.

He admitted that he must complete 500 peci before Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah. These orders include from Palembang, Batam, Pekanbaru, Agam District, Padang Pariaman District and local traders in Pariaman Municipality.

In daily day, the national peci only produces about one or 20 pieces and sold them to various shops in Pariaman with prices vary according to the quality of the materials used, he said. While at this time, there are 40 to 100 pieces order from each trader.

For the best quality of peci, it used velvet material sold for Rp100 thousand, then the middle quality Rp50 thousand and the usual quality Rp35 thousand, he pointed out.

Meanwhile, Head of Industry Trade Service Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises of Pariaman, Gusniyetti Zaunit said that national cap production continues to increase in society especially during Ramadhan.

Her side also had advised the craftsmen to open a shop or branch in production market in Jati, Cental Pariaman Sub-district to reach consumers easily. (cha)
