Padang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - A total of 50 students of Padang State University(UNP), West Sumatra get scholarship from Bank Indonesia (BI) with a total value of Rp600 million.
Vice Rector III of UNP, Prof Ardipal in here, on Tuesday, said those students get the scholarship after following the selection, one of the conditions is that they must have three at GPA grade point.
"Actually the scholarship from BI for UNP students has been done since 2016, so it is not the first time," he said.
UNP is committed to facilitate scholarships for outstanding students with economic limitations through a scholarship program from BI.
He thanked BI Representative of West Sumatra because in addition to increase the number of scholarship recipients to 50 people, it also add scholarship from Rp750 thousand to Rp1 million per month.
According to him, the scholarship is done through a rigorous selection process in terms of achievement, character, social and economic background of the applicants.
"The applicants have been through two stages of direct interviews, namely initial interviews and in-depth interviews to get students who deserve the scholarship," he explained.
Meanwhile, Head of BI Representative of West Sumatra, Endy Dwi Tjahyono also handed over scholarships for students of Imam Bonjol State Islamic University (UIN) and University of Andalas in Nan Tongga BI Hall in Padang, West Sumatra, Tuesday.
"In total, there are 150 outstanding students from the three universities that get the scholarship," he added. (cha)
