Padang Panjang, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The Government of Padang Panjang Municipality, West Sumatra, increased tour guide resources through the integrated training so that they can understand and know tourism potential in that area and be able to offer it to the visitors.
The Caretaker of Regional Secretary of Padang Panjang, Indra Gusnady in Padang Panjang, Wednesday, said that the training is done for 40 tour guides in local area for three days from March 27 to 29 in Minangkabau Culture Documentation and Information Center (PDIKM) to improve their knowledge about tourism wealth of the crossing city.
"For an area, the tourism potential can be said as a gold mine that needs to be explored," he remarked.
Because of that, the tour guide whose role relates to tourists, need to have a deep understanding about the potential that exists in Padang Panjang so that they can promote it to the visitors.
"Through the role of tour guide, we hope to create a tourism image that gives a good impression for tourists so that they will come repeatedly to Padang Panjang," he stated.
He reminded that the training is not just an activity which completed within three days, but there is a direct implementation by tour guide in order to obtain the tangible results of increased tourist visits. (cha)
