Parit Malintang, (Antara Sumbar) - The Government of Padangpariaman District, West Sumatra, receives Rp1.6 billion from central government which is used to procure ambulance public health centers in the area.

"The donation comes from the Special Allocation Fund (DAK) of the Ministry of Health which will be used to replace ambulance of Gasan Gadang, Pamatuan and Limau Purut health center which are not feasible to operate anymore," Head of Padangpariaman Health Office Aspinuddin stated in Parit Malintang on Thursday (Sept 21).

He said the procurement of ambulances is done because the medical vehicles in three local government clinics were obsolete, so they could not support the maximum mobility of health there.

Moreover, ambulances require high safety standards, if it is imposing obsolete vehicles so that it will be dangerous.

He mentioned Health Office rejuvenates ambulance of local government clinic every year in turn.

By doing such rejuvenation, it can maximize health services to community and reduce the number of deaths due to less quickly in service.

In addition, it also received a medical vehicle for operational program namely "Public Safety Center" or Center for Public Safety (PSC) 119.

The PSC 119 aims to reduce death toll due to low mobilization in the area.

He said that if there are people who are sick and need medical treatment as soon as possible then they can contact 119 via mobile phone.

At that time, he continued the service center will pick up the residents and coordinate with local government clinics and referral hospitals.

Coordination aims to make health centers and hospitals able to prepare the power and equipment so that when patients come, then doctors and nurses can directly perform medical action. (cha)
