Padang (ANTARA) - Governor of W Sumatra Irwan Prayitno encouraged Padang City and Bukittinggi to implement the Large Scale Social Restriction (PSBB) to suppress the spread of COVID-19 in the area.
"The most cases of COVID-19 are in Padang and Bukittinggi, so it is appropriate to apply the PSBB to suppress the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak," he said during a meeting to accelerate the prevention and control of the spread of COVID-19 in Padang on Monday.
According to him to propose PSBB to the Ministry of Health in coordination with the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, there are a number of conditions that must be met including the number and cases of death, as well as the presence of epidemiology in other places connected with regions that will submit PSBB.
In addition, it should also prepare supporting data regarding the increase in cases and time of the epidemiological curve, including the distribution map according to the time curve.
"The most important thing is that the government provides basic living needs for the community because PSBB restricts people from going outside the house. It needs a social safety network during the PSBB," he said.
He asked Padang City and Bukittinggi to prepare all the documents needed so that they could be immediately proposed to the center government.
"If there are other cities that want to implement the PSBB, they should immediately prepare a draft. But for Padang and Bukittinggi, the Provincial Government will facilitate to the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.
