Padang Aro (ANTARA) - Roads in Solok Selatan Regency, W Sumatra will be closed starting from the border with Solok Regency such as Ulu Suliti to Padang Aro for five hours starting at 10:00 a.m until 03.00 p.m for the holding of the Tour de Singkarak (TdS) stage six on Thursday (7/11).
One member of the Solok Selatan Transportation Office, Aksya Ivani, in Padang Aro on Wednesday said motorists who wanted to leave for Padang or vice versa should leave at dawn and when passing the TdS route before starting at Singkarak.
"Along the TdS route in Solok Selatan , we have provided a parking space and drivers who are stuck with road closures are advised to park in a place that has been provided so as not to disturb the passing racers," he said.
Solok Selatan Police Chief, Imam Yulisdianto, said that to secure the path to the TdS finish location, 458 personnel were deployed consisting of 270 people from the police, 28 from the army, 122 from the Transportation Agency and 38 Public Order Enforcers.
The security officer, he said, would be placed in a predetermined location starting from the Ulu suliti boundary to Ruang Terbuka Hijau Padang Aro.
Meanwhile, Head of Health Service of Solok Selatan, Novirman said that his office had assigned 64 health workers and 16 ambulance units to succeed the TdS.
"We have prepared personnel and ambulances and are ready to provide medical services for both racers and offenders along the TDS route," he said.
Stage VI TdS starts at the dock of Lake Singkarak by first circling the lake and then heading to the city of Solok.
After that the racer drove towards Lubuk Selasih towards Surian and continued to Solok Selatan.
For the Solok Selatan region the riders cross four districts namely Koto Parik Gadang Diateh, Sungai Pagu, Pauah Duo and finish in Sangir.
Along the route in Solok Selatan, the racer will cross tourist destinations such as the Balun dam, Istano Rajo Balun, Saribu Rumah Gadang area, Tubing Ducati and Liki tea plantation.
