Simpang Empat, (Antaranews Sumbar) - The demand for beef in West Pasaman District, West Sumatra increased from the usual day one day before Eid al-Fitr 1439 Hijriah, one of beef traders in Simpang Empat market, Inet stated in here on Thursday.
He said that although people's demand is very high, the price of beef is still stable.
The price of beef is currently Rp130,000 per kilogram. As for the bones and a number of other organs sold ranging from Rp50,000 to Rp80,000 per kilogram or it depends on the type and quality.
He said compared to the previous year, the number of merchant sales fell about 30 percent. This is happened due to the number of needs of community.
He hopes that this condition can be improved with the increasing purchasing power and demand of community. Especially the selling price of cows at the level of breeders rose at this time.
Traders admitted their current sales results can still fulfill the daily needs or not loss. (cha)
